Meric Long's freewheeling songs mix breezy, fingerpicked folk with punk grit, and when ignited by Logan Kroeber's adventurous drumming, become a beautifully disorienting psych-folk explosion. The San Francisco duo's first full-length release in 2008 on the French Kiss label excited critics and fans impressed by the combination of muscular percussion and textured songwriting. A second critically hailed record (featuring multi-instrumentalist Keaton Snyder) followed fast on its heels, filling out the band's sound and cementing the eclectic indie outfit's place as college rock darlings.
