Spotlighting the contributions of Nortec Collective members Bostich and Fussible, TIJUANA SOUND MACHINE continues in the tradition the Collective established in the early 2000s. On their third album, the Collective's happy collision of Norteno music and dance-oriented elecronica is more fully realized than ever, as traditional Mexican riffs and rhythms bounce intriguingly off samples, synth blasts, and electronic beats in a musical mix that could easily have seemed gimmicky, but somehow feels completely natural. From the perky, accordion-driven two-step of "The Clap" to the club beats and processed vocals of the sensually undulating title track, this is the sound of modern Mexico.
