Sure, these ladies may sing about the Lord, but the hip-hop-oriented production on THIS IS YOUR LIFE, bursting out with angular synth hooks, crisp percussion, and undeniably fresh sounds, gives Out of Eden the tools to compete with anyone this side of Destiny's Child in the infectious-pop stakes. To call this stuff radio-ready would be an understatement on the order of calling WWII a disagreement. On "I Am the One," skittering electronic tones mix with romantic ripples of acoustic guitar and washes of analog-sounding synth, all in support of lyrics that deal in no uncertain terms with the relationship between humanity and the deity. This is the kind of pop/theology juxtaposition that the rule of thumb throughout THIS IS YOUR LIFE.
