This all-female Canadian band broke up in 2006 after dozens of popular live performances but releasing only one album, GRAB THAT GUN. Still, the group had enough worthwhile music lying around that they decided to briefly re-form and lay down some new tracks. The result is the THIEVES EP, which features a decidedly non-trendy variety of the too-often-derivative post-punk revival sound. Songs like "Oh What a Feeling" touch enough sonic signposts--Johnny Marr jangle, church hymnals, even ambient--that pigeonholing this material is well nigh impossible.
