One of the finest examples of decadent and tribal rock & roll, "Sympathy for the Devil" features Mick Jagger luxuriously slipping into the persona of Lucifer and reveling in the role. With its frenzy of percussion and primal shouting, this iconic track even inspired Jean-Luc Godard's film of the same name, which follows the song's 1968 London recording sessions.

Twenty-five years after its release, "Sympathy" gets a tip of the hat from a set of tech-savvy contributors on this seven-song EP. Pop/hip-hop producers the Neptunes apply their trademark sharp beats and thudding bass to two lively, Eastern-tinged remixes that focus on Jagger's sinister vocals, while Big Beat guru Fatboy Slim amps up the piano and percussion on his two boisterous, dance-floor-ready tracks. Of course, nothing can compete with the original recording, a rhythmic, piano-driven, Satanic soliloquy that crescendos with Keith Richards's blistering lead guitar. The ultimate testament to the Stones' reputation as the bad boys of British rock, "Sympathy for the Devil" is a timeless tribute to the dark side of rock & roll.
