Product note

The delightful 1920s singer Annette Hanshaw, one of the most popular voices of the Jazz Age, was frequently accompanied by some of jazz's most accomplished players, including Eddie Lang, Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey, Joe Venuti, and Red Nichols. Her sparkling treatments of such period classics as "Six Feet of Papa" and "Walkin' My Baby Back Home" may not qualify as classic jazz, but her relaxed delivery and phrasing provided the inspiration for a generation of pioneering female vocalists.
