Steeped in girl group, indie pop, and post punk sounds--all of which might very well pre-date the member's of this Swedish band's very existence--Liechtenstein nonetheless perfectly nail that now-familiar formula. One of a number of bands seeing the light of day on the newly revamped (as of the late '00s) Slumberland Records, the Swedish trio create a warm pop hum punctuated by infectious sing-along harmonies and the occasional minimalist bass throb or guitar scrum. Sure, cries of "derivative" aren't completely unwarranted, but with songs as well-crafted and with such an attention to detail as these, complaints become utterly pointless.
