URB (Magazine) (p.85) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "The album kicks off with 'Hot Mamma,' a super-synthed 'fonk' ballad....The rest of SUPERPSYCHOSEXY follows suit, at times becoming more contemporary with loop-driven instrumentation and rolling bass lines, and at others, getting more experimental with both arrangement and theme."

With a wide array of influences from the worlds of hip-hop, funk, soul, and jazz, SUPERPSYCHOSEXY works like a post-modern smorgasbord of black music. The debut album from the Om Records artist known as the One relies on the stellar production skills of Geoffrey aka Jah Freedom. The layered beats waver between bouncy Detroit hip-hop (… la J. Dilla) rife with crackling snares and soul samples and neo-G-Funk built on computerized instrumentation (ala Roger Troutman), while the One's tongue-in-cheek vocal stylings aim for boozy, leisure-suit seduction, conjuring singular crooners such as George Clinton and Cee Lo Green.
