As some one who grew up with and went to school with Raymond I was aware of his
crimes and some of his plight. I also know that his casual mention of the
accident that he caused was callous and selfish to say the least. After that
part I lost interest in the book because I questioned the honesty of the book
from then on. The kid that he mentions, Collin, was for the most part "killed"
in that accident. Collin drowned and is not severely brain damaged. There is no
mention of what Raymond did with the thousands of dollars that he threw into
Whiskey Ditch either. I felt that Raymond skipped a great deal of events with
the intention of wanting to garner "sympathy" for his life and not taking full
responsibility of how his choices negatively affected others.
