Unlike many other '90s Gospel crossover acts, the New Life Community Choir's talents aren't limited to the studio. As shown on this live album, the group, featuring John P. Kee has the chops to pull off their pop/Gospel/R&B amalgam in front of an audience. Whether they're crooning a piano-based ballad like "Come In" or an upbeat, funky tune like the title track, the New Life Community Choir is eminently sharp and soulful. Throughout STRENGTH, the NLCC engage in a seemingly symbiotic relationship with the audience, until both the crowd and the musicians are feeding off each other's energy-and it is this, above all, that is the mark of a great live album.
