Though never much of a success in the United States, the Wildhearts clearly found inspiration across the pond, as this set is composed largely of songs originally done by American alternative heavyweights, including Helmet, Fugazi, the Descendents, the Distillers, and Soul Asylum, among others. At the core of the album, however, is still the Wildhearts' infectious blend of hard rock moxie and crisp pop sensibility, with their revved up take on Warren Zevon's "Carmelita" being an irresistible example.
