Product Notes

Before the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the government sent out cinema units to the far reaches of the USSR on either horse or foot to expose its citizens to propaganda films. However, when Kyrgyzstan seceded from the Republic, its cinema program funding was cut, and the fledgling country was quickly deprived of its citizens beloved movies. This documentary follows the lone projectionist who has made it his mission to bring cinema back to the people of the volatile country of Kyrgyzstan as he seeks to provide one constant source of wonder to these people who go through almost constant upheaval.
