New York City cop Daniel Rodriguez seemed to be omnipresent after the September 11th attacks, with his stirring version of "God Bless America" featured both at various World Series games and at traditional New York events such as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. His rich tenor gave focus and hope to a city and a nation traumatized by events beyond their comprehension and to the members of the battered New York emergency services.

He's featured here in his debut, patriotically inclined release, performing wonderfully stirring popular material such as "You'll Never Walk Alone," "Danny Boy," and "America the Beautiful," in addition to some more recent compositions such as "We Will Go On." All of these songs highlight his obvious singing talents, while the production places them in orchestral settings that are supportive but never too sumptuous for the material.
