Title Note

TRANQUILITY is part of a five-album relaxation series from the Sounds of Spa. Like their other releases, this offering features the work of various relaxation composers. The goal of each track is to peel away stress and worry, and refresh the listener. Intended for use at spas, therapist's offices, and yoga classes, TRANQUILITY is a thoroughly enchanting release that is sure to rejuvenate its listener.

This music avoids dissonant passages and jarring rhythms. It also does not use tension and release to create a dynamic ebb and flow. Instead, great attempts have been made to present music that is legato, placid, and sonically consistent. "The Water of Peace" by Stephen Rhodes is one such example. This composition invokes a floating effect due to the light, pianissimo piano chords and the feathery panflute melody. Two additional tracks make direct reference to water, namely "Source to Sea" and "Light on a Silver Sea." Written by Lagoon West and Medwyn Goodall, respectively, these works both use nature sounds and shimmering orchestral layers. In general, TRANQUILITY maintains a warm, sunny disposition throughout. This is well-structured music for spiritual healing.
