Alabama band Verbena mix indie-rock edge with a distinct blues-rock influence on their debut album, SOULS FOR SALE. Echoes of CCR and the Stones' riff-rock mix with Neil Young-esque guitar crunch and a male/female vocal blend that recalls John Doe and Exene of X. If those '60s rockers had started out 30 years later and come by a little alt-rock grittiness, they might sound quite a bit like SOULS FOR SALE.
