Eric Burdon Artist Snapshot:

After his tenure with the Animals was over at the end of the 1960s, Eric Burdon joined forces with the L.A. funk band War and cut two successful albums with them, one of which spawned the hit single "Spill the Wine." During a large European tour in '70, Burdon parted ways with the band, who went on to have a flourishing career without him. This led to a series of Burdon solo albums, whereon he has explored all facets of the blues, employing that distinctive growl that made him one of the most compelling rock singers in pop history. He has temporarily reunited or re-formed the Animals on several occasions, and while he records only sporadically, he remains a popular live attraction, especially in Europe.
