Grupo Fantasma are an 11-piece Austin outfit with a thrillingly big sound, an accomplished instrumental aesthetic, and an aggressively eclectic approach to the wide world of Latin music. On their fourth full-length, SONIDOS GOLD, Grupo Fantasma demonstrate their mastery of an array of styles including salsa, Colombian cumbia, Cuban son, and tejano soul.

Miraculously, Grupo Fantasma pull off this impressive fusion of genres with ease, employing massed horns, variegated percussion, and an impressive roster of distinguished guests (most notably the legendary salsa bandleader Larry Harlow) to create a rhythmically sophisticated yet compulsively danceable sound.
