Down Beat (12/95, pp.54-55) - 3 Stars - Good - "...There isn't a slacker in sight....Perhaps the most remarkable thing about this recording is the 53-year-old bass great's ability to get Hancock and Shorter to play new music in a relatively unfettered setting; that is, minus the adornments both have come to include as latter-day saints of jazz's outre..."

Recorded at Van Gelder Recording Studio, Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey on March 8-9, 1989. Includes liner notes by Mike Hennessey.

All songs written by Buster Williams except "Sophisticated Lady" (Duke Ellington/Irving Mills/Mitchel Parish) and "I Didn't Know What Time It Was" (Richard Rogers/Lorentz Hart).
