Hearts of Space's Slow Music for Yoga delivers exactly what the title promises, a collection of languid East Indian fusion that is slow enough to ensure the proper flow between yoga positions, but rhythmic enough to keep the momentum going. The sinuous melodies and subtle percussion of Thomas Barquee's "Salva Me," Rasa's "Sri Guru, Pt. 1," and Hans Christian's "Matritamah," among others, help create the focused calm that is at the heart of yoga. Al Gromer Khan and Kai Taschner's "Black Marble and Sweet Fire" and Shafqat Ali Khan and Annapurna's "Emptiness Is Form" are two of the other highlights from Slow Music for Yoga, which also serves as relaxing, exotic background music for many other occasions. ~ Heather Phares
