Album Description

It's hard to get better than this: the first two Jerry Lee Lewis Sings the Country Music Hall of Fame volumes in one package -- on a single disc, no less. That's the deal with this remastered reissue from Beat Goes On (BGO), which places all 24 cuts together, from his signature readings of Hank Williams' "Jambalaya (On the Bayou)" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" to Leon Payne's "I Love You Because." But this is just the beginning. During his Mercury period Jerry Lee was every bit the country singer as he was the rocker, and these two albums are among his best. ~ Thom Jurek
