The biggest alternative American rock group to emerge in the wake of Hootie And The Blowfish, Blessid Union Of Souls presents an eclectic blend of seamlessly integrated styles, incorporating homegrown pop into a rich, state-of-the-art sonic palette. Emphatic vocals dripping with the sincerity of coffeehouse folk are enhanced by rich layering and slick production, while acoustic instruments mix with grunge guitars and studio tricks.

This collection--essentially a greatest hits album--features vocalist Eliot Sloan playing up his sensitive side as usual, but there's something almost comically endearing about his earnestness, and several of the tracks here--the self-deprecating "Hey Leonardo," the anthemic "I Believe," and "Rev it Up (Nascar Rocks"), are genuine hard rock classics. As a bonus, this enhanced CD also includes the amusing videos for "Leonardo" and "Nascar."
