Cheka (aka David Lozada) is from Brooklyn, but the sounds of his native Puerto Rico percolate through his super-charged solo debut, SIN RIVALES. Cheka had already made a name for himself in the reggaeton world by producing some of the biggest names in the game (including Don Omar, Luny Tunes, and Daddy Yankee), and he brought that production pedigree to SIN RIVALES, which overflows with hot tracks. Fortunately, Cheka proves himself to be just as adept in front of the boards as behind, as his skill on the mic crackles throughout the album's 20 cuts. Cheka may still have rivals in cohorts like Don Omar and Daddy Yankee, but the heat from this debut effort clearly puts his name on the reggaeton map.
