SHOW DOG NASHVILLE PRESENTS features three songs each by three new country performers, the Trailer Choir, Carter's Chord, and Mica Roberts. The Trailer Choir are a tongue in cheek country-rock trio specializing in songs like the cheerful slacker's lament "In My Next Five Beers" and the endearingly goofy "Rockin' the Beer Gut," a hearfelt paean to chunky country chicks. Female trio Carter's Chord, the only one of these three bands to have released a full album prior to this compilation, favor smoky R&B-influenced vocals over mid-tempo pop grooves colored with just enough fiddle and pedal steel to make them recognizably country. Mica Roberts is a more conventional country singer in the mold of Trisha Yearwood on tunes like her debut single "Things A Mama Don't Know."
