Album Description

Remembering Never burst onto the scene with an EP that blew away fans of the emotional metalcore scene and drew comparisons to popular acts such as Poison the Well. Now, with their full-length debut, She Looks So Good In Red, Remembering Never is ready to stake their claim as reigning kings of this subgenre, and with the emotion and tenacity captured on this album, they just may have done the impossible. Featuring Until the End's vocalist, Pete, Remembering Never can offer devastating musical explosives alongside whimsical, melodic bliss, which they do in heavy doses on this album, yet never do they sacrifice their dignity to sound more digestible to weaker listeners. Instead they have improved on their original sound, transforming the volatile sound into a straight-up inferno of devilish morbidity, including disturbing lyrics and album packaging that may turn stomachs when examined closely. Naturally, Poison the Well similarities are obvious, from the two bands' similar styles to both hailing from the Florida area, and in fact Jeremy Staska (who handled production of Poison the Well's Tear From the Red) happened to produce She Looks So Good in Red. That aside, while Poison the Well decided to experiment with more melody on their Tear From the Red offering, Remembering Never is much more aggressive and dares to turn their music into complete audio nightmares of sound. This is the album Poison the Well failed to release, and Remembering Never has successfully made a lasting impression on any fan of the metalcore genre. Those who adored The Opposite of December and From Autumn to Ashes' Too Bad You're Beautiful have to witness the violent convulsions of Remembering Never. ~ Jason D. Taylor
