The Guess Who Artist Snapshot:

With the possible exceptions of Neil Young and the Band (whose long-time residences in and obsessions with the States have made them honorary Yanks), the Guess Who are Canada's most successful rock export. Beginning as an R&B band in the 1960s, the group went on to score hits via a wide range of pop styles from groovy, soulful pop ("These Eyes") to hippie sing-a-longs ("Share the Land") to riff-heavy macho-rock ("American Woman"). Founding member Randy Bachman left the band in 1970 to form MOR-rock kingpins Bachman-Turner Overdrive, while vocalist Burton Cummings continued on with a revamped Guess Who line-up into the '80s.

Title Note

All tracks are in mono unless otherwise specified.

The Guess Who includes: Burton Cummings (vocals, keyboards); Randy Bachman (guitar); Jim Kale, Garry Peterson.

Recorded between 1963 and 1967. Includes liner notes by John Einarson.

Digitally remastered by Bob Irwin (Sundazed Studios, Coxsackie, New York).

Before they burst into the mainstream with pop hits like "These Eyes" and "American Woman," the Guess Who were the garage-rocking pride of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Sundazed's excellent 24-track anthology SHAKIN' ALL OVER is the first compilation of the Guess Who's singles and unreleased tracks, from their formation in 1963 to their signing to RCA Records in late 1967. In addition to well-known classics like the title track, their classic 1965 garage rock stomper, and the blue-eyed soul of "It's My Pride," this set includes two previously unreleased songs and a number of rarities including a beautiful cover of Buffalo Springfield's "Flying on the Ground Is Wrong," written by another veteran of the Winnipeg garage rock scene, Neil Young. The remastered set features excellent sound and comprehensive liner notes.
