While he didn't go on to superstardom like his Cream bandmate Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce--with his distinctive vocals, ripping bass, and enigmatic songs--carved out quite a diverse career for himself, playing in rock, blues, jazz, and even avant-garde and world-music contexts. Featuring a dizzying array of guests plucked from a wide range of musical styles (including Dr. John, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, and Buena Vista Social Club star Chiquita Luis Quintana), SHADOWS IN THE AIR features material from almost all stages of Bruce's protean career.
