Short Desription

Mackenzie Allen Philips'' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack''s world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant "The Shack" wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You''ll want everyone you know to read this book!

5 out of 5 stars If you loved this book, check out Forgiving Ararat, December 18, 2009

I loved this book. For me, it answered so many questions, as well as opening up new ways of thinking of things. Another book I recently read builds on this: Gita Nazareths Forgiving Ararat. This book too explores themes of judgment and forgiveness in the face of violence. As a fan and publicist for this book, Im interested to see what parallels are drawn between the two

It makes you think and question all you think you know. For those who have issue with which religion, this book will help set you in the right direction to what to do. This book is very much a eye opener, it made me want to cry, and made you think over everything that you know and that you can still make up your mind.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely the Best Read, March 18, 2008

If this doesnt make you want a relationship with God, dont know what would!!!!!!!!!!! It is right up there with the Bible but only simpler and just maybe better.

5 out of 5 stars The best book I have ever read and the only one I will read again., March 16, 2008

If I could only keep one book in my house, I would get rid of all of the others, including my bible, and keep this one. It is not an instructional book or a book telling you how God is. It is a story that helps anyone identify with God with no religion involved. The only relationship is you with God.

5 out of 5 stars Simple, straight forward and wholeheartedly written, March 10, 2008

This book is truly life changing.
