Product note

Night Ranger: Jack Blades (vocals, acoustic guitar, bass); Brad Gillis, Jeff Watson (vocals, guitar); Kelly Keagy (vocals, drums); Alan Fitzgerald (keyboards).
Additional personnel: Pat MacDonald (acoustic guitar); Ricky Lawson (cowbell); Tommy Shaw, Mark Hudson (percussion, background vocals); Michael Carabello (percussion); Jack Russell (background vocals).
Producers: Noel Golden, Jack Blades, Kelly Keagy.
Recorded at Jack's Barn, Sonoma County, California.
The original Night Ranger line-up regrouped in 1997 for their NEVERLAND album. The reunion must have been a success, since the quintet returned only a year later with another new studio album, SEVEN.
The album doesn't differ much from its predecessor (or the band's '80s output for that matter)--radio-friendly hooks will lure aficionados of arena rock, as well as lovers of sticky sweet power ballads. The album-opening rocker, "Sign of the Times," proves to be one of the band's best, and features some inspired guitar work from the duo of Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson, as well as such mid-paced numbers as "Don't Ask Me Why" and "Soul Survivor," plus the uptempo "Mother Mayhem."
