Title Note

On his 1981 album, SEDUZIR, Brazilian performer Djavan offers up a buoyant set of Portuguese-language pop. Possessing a resonant singing voice that often recalls Stevie Wonder (see the lightly funky "Pedro Brasil" and the R&B-tinged title track), Djavan crafts bright, sunny melodies that are enhanced by rhythms from his homeland, as best revealed on the jaunty, percussive "Lunda."
