Industry veterans before they were even out of their teens, Australian showbiz wunder-twins Jess and Lisa Origliasso opted to escape their Down Under teenybopper past by moving to California and starting over as the Veronicas. Collaborating with crackerjack producer/songwriters such as Max Martin and Chantal Kreviazuk, the Origliasso sisters excel at mixing accessible punk-pop (the surging "4ever") with soaring ballads (the tear-jerker "Heavily Broken"). While the duo's predominantly guitar-heavy songs recall performers such as Avril Lavigne and Ashlee Simpson, Jess and Lisa's sibling bond and years of experience make them more comparable to Hilary and Haylie Duff. With this well-crafted and exceedingly catchy debut, the Veronicas are perfectly poised to win over American audiences.
