Part concert film, part call to arms, SCREAMERS follows metal band System of a Down as they draw light on the continuing history of genocide, both with their music and public campaigns. Whether in Germany, Iraq, Rwanda, or Darfur, there's a silence that accompanies mass murder, and a reluctance by government officials to call it by its proper name. Not merely a political issue for the band members, it's a personal one; they are all descended from genocide survivors. As lead singer Serj Tankian shares the story of his grandfather, who lived through the Armenian massacres, the documentary follows the band's struggle to get Congress to recognize the brutality for what it was: genocide.
