Issued on Capitol in late 1964, School Is a Drag was the third LP issued that year by the Super Stocks, a studio group masterminded by producer Gary Usher. The 12 tracks live up to the sun-drenched, high-speed concept of the record without getting generic due to the cream-of-the-crop session musicians Usher employed, including Billy Strange, Glen Campbell, Leon Russell, Ray Pohlman, Hal Blaine, and Jerry Cole. With plenty of rare surf and hot rod tracks, this is an enjoyable, fun disc recommended to both collectors and casual listeners. ~ Al Campbell

Sundazed brings back to life three rare surf and hot rod sessions recorded in 1964 by the Super Stocks, a studio group masterminded by producer Gary Usher. Originally issued on Capitol in late 1964, School Is a Drag was the third LP recorded by the aggregation released in that year. The 12 tracks live up to the sun-drenched, high-speed concept of the record without getting generic due to the cream-of-the-crop session musicians Usher employed, including Billy Strange, Glen Campbell, Leon Russell, Ray Pohlman, Hal Blaine, and Jerry Cole. As usual, the folks at Sundazed have done excellent work with all the Super Stocks reissues. Featuring meticulous mastering from the original analog reels and sporting new liner notes by author Stephen McParland, these are top-notch. This is an enjoyable, fun reissue recommended to both collectors and casual listeners. ~ Al Campbell
