Formed in Oslo, Sweden, in 1988, decadent hard-rockers Turbonegro were a genuine one-off. Mixing the sinister glam of Alice Cooper with an undercurrent of outre sex, the band defined their sound as "death punk." Their outrageous look was deliberately designed to offend the sensibilities of the Scandinavian metal and punk communities--and it worked. With tongue-in-cheek song titles such as "I Got Erection," "Rock Against Ass," and "Wipe It Til It Bleeds," the band gained a loyal worldwide fanbase--dubbed Turbojugend--who have stuck with the band through cancelled tours, numerous line-up changes, and disbandings.
