With such riff-rock merchants as Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Guns N' Roses taking extended periods of time between albums by the late '90s, a whole new wave of disciples began to emerge in the U.S., including Buckcherry and Nashville Pussy. The latter band never flirted with mainstream success like the former did, but have definitely carved a niche for themselves with their over-the-top stage show and down 'n' dirty approach--as proven by the group's third release overall (and first for new label, Artemis), 2002's SAY SOMETHING NASTY.

Nashville Pussy continues to specialize in hard-hitting and anything-but-subtle heavy metal, as evidenced by such scorchers as "Gonna Hitchhike Down to Cincinnati and Kick the Shit Outta Your Drunk Daddy," "You Give Drugs A Bad Name," and "Beat Me Senseless." For those who remember the golden age, there's even a rowdy yet faithful reading of Rick Derringer's '70s party- rock anthem "Rock N' Roll Hoochie Coo."
