Despite his cohort GZA's well known nickname, many regard RZA as the true genius of the Wu-Tang Clan. RZA first introduced his Bobby Digital alter ego on 1998's IN STEREO. He continues to speak through Bobby on this disc, which is just as sonically inventive as its predecessor. Utilizing off-kilter rhythms, quirky keyboard riffs, unconventional delivery, and a generally left-field sensibility, RZA remains the unconventional hip-hop innovator. While he has no reservations about taking on the violent subjects that are the domain of so many rappers, he delves deeper into the root causes of urban problems, and ultimately searches for solutions. It's this searching quality, as applied to both his lyrics and his music, that gives RZA's work its distinctive edge.
