CMJ (10/27/03, p.12) - "...Ranging from traditional dramatic/reflective emo tunes to bounce-along pop-punk gems, each track on THE ROOM'S TOO COLD flows seamlessly into next..."

On its debut full-length album, THE ROOM'S TOO COLD, New Jersey-based group the Early November follows up on the promise of its initial EP. Led along by the heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics and vocals of primary songwriter Ace Enders, the band furthers its emo sound with intriguing arrangements and instrumentation (including strings on certain tracks). There's an overall feeling of grief on the album, largely due to a break-up Enders endured just before its recording, but rather than bogging down the songs, this tone give them some weight. However, not all is bleak; tunes such as "Sesame, Smeshame" and "Fluxy" lighten the mood and round out this exceptional album.
