Publisher's note

Wanda McKinney has four adult children and one grandson. For the past thirty years she has lived on a farm just outside the small town of Vanceburg along the muddy Ohio River. With the river on one side and railroad tracks running through the farm, she and her family are used to loud and sometimes fast trains roaring past while an old restored paddle boat floated past playing melodies from its huge pipe organ onboard. With plenty of chores to do, she and the children were never bored. Now that time has clicked on by, and she has the empty nest with time on her hands, she has sat down to record some old stories that shead always heard about her ancestors, which mainly involve her grandfather Green Tackett from a West Virginia Indian reservation.
