Country hunk Rockie Lynne's overnight success was built on over a decade of scuffling in dive bars, sometimes performing more than 200 gigs a year. His debut shows the fruits of his tenacity, with a rock-tinged set of gritty yet sensitive songs that include the hit single "Lipstick" and the romantic "More." "Super Country Cowboy" itemizes Lynne's multifarious influences ("there's a new branch on the family tree"), while "Do We Still" shows he can also perform according to more sentimental Nashville conventions. Displaying both his smooth, pleasing voice and macho-yet-sensitive personality, ROCKIE LYNNE is an assured, often powerful set.
