Before the Chieftains spearheaded a revival in instrumental Irish music in the '60s, the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem were warming audiences with many an old chestnut from ol' Eire. Indeed, they popularized Irish folk music the world over. On this live 1984 concert, we hear these four legendary singers in one of their best performances.

New York audiences have always been partial to the Clancy Brothers' music, if only because there are so many immigrants-and their descendants-living on the Island City. This concert at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center captures the synergy between the Clancys and their adoring fans: fans they garnered through constant dedication to spreading the Irish Gospel. REUNION highlights include the boisterous working-man's song "Haul Away Joe," the great drinking song "Jug of Punch," and the beautiful love song "Will You Go Lassie Go." Perhaps the concert's high point, however, is "Holy Ground," a romping march heightened by the audience's joyous clapping.
