Title Note

The third volume of Hi-Bias' Retro: Active series blows the dust off another batch of alternate mixes found on 12" singles released throughout the '80s, along with a couple later mixes that didn't necessarily make a big impact. Some of the noteworthy tracks include an extended mix of INXS' "The One Thing," the "Swing Beat Dub Mix" of Bananarama's "Cruel Summer," an extended mix of Simple Minds' "Someone, Somewhere (In Summertime)," and the "DMC Mix" of Duran Duran's "Save a Prayer," which must've been made long after the song's original issue. The wild card on this volume is Maurice & the Cliches' "Soft Core," a goofy rumble with a bleating synthesized-organ line. ~ Andy Kellman
