After a major lineup shift, RX Bandits (now featuring six musicians, including founding members Matt Embree and Chris Tsagakis) have returned with a bold new sound. Although elements of the band's punk/ska stylings are still present, THE RESIGNATION is rooted in fierce guitars, dark lyrics, and odd time signatures, displaying the influence of both Tool and the Police. The result is an intriguing hybrid of prog-rock, thrash metal, and ska that touches on a variety of contemporary topics, including plastic surgery (the incendiary "Sell You Beautiful") and corporate America ("Newsstand Rock" and "Republic"). An album that manages to be both socially conscious and musically inventive, THE RESIGNATION marks Rx Bandits emergence as a force to be reckoned with.
