From his groundbreaking reggae and dub productions in the 1970s and beyond, Lee "Scratch" Perry has developed a reputation as one of the great mad geniuses of modern music. As 2008's REPENTANCE shows, Perry is still going strong at age 72, and is still out to prove there's a method to his madness. Perry has opened his sound to incorporate modern rhythm music, including electronica and hip-hop. These influences push his compositions into new territory, yet they are still marked by the sonic adventurousness that has characterized all Perry's work.

Made in collaboration with American musician and producer Andrew W.K., REPENTANCE features an all-star roster of guests including Hot Chip, Spank Rock, M.I.A., Moby, and Chris Stein from Blondie. Their appearances add to the eclectic vibe of the album, but it's also Perry's wacky singing and antics that make the album such a treat.
