Review

Alternative Press (p.188) - "[P]roducer Brian McTernan brings the band's lush, dreamy atmospherics to the forefront, seamlessly connecting these moments with Moneen's unrelenting series of guitar and noise explosions."
Alternative Press (p.136) - Included in Alternative Press's "10 Essential Albums Of 2006" -- "Moneen are an unstoppable force."
Kerrang (Magazine) (p.47) - "THE RED TREE is saccharine-sweet pop-punk; all clean vocals, melodic harmonising and big hooks."

Title Note

The Canadian emo band Moneen has a reputation for impeccable musicianship and whip-smart arrangements, as well as for maintaining an almost unnatural performance energy level. Their third full-length consolidates and builds on their impressive musical standing with a series of dramatic, finely honed songs, like the intriguing "If Tragedy's Appealing, Then Disaster's an Addiction" and the anthemic, compelling "Frightening Reality of the Fact...." In its entirety, THE RED TREE forms a powerful, full-frontal assault both on the eardrums and the psyche, giving the lie to the trope that sensitive songwriting is exclusively the province of the irredeemably low-key.
