Bradley Joseph boasts stints with Sheena Easton and Yanni, and it's apparent from Rapture that more than a little of the latter has rubbed off on him. Like Yanni, Joseph has a good ear for melody, but he pretty much refrains from Yanni's trademark sweeping, whooshing synth swells. Instead, listeners get a more intimate recording, but one marred by the inclusion of background vocals. They serve no purpose other than to clutter up the proceedings. And if Yanni's reach sometimes exceeds his grasp, Joseph could perhaps gain by trying to expand his scope a little. Adequate, occasionally pretty, but hardly essential. ~ Ross Boissoneau
