Title Note

Stereophonics: Kelly Jones (vocals, guitar); Richard Jones (bass guitar); Javier Weyler (drums).

This sixth studio album from this fecund Welsh band is a further refinement of their sound as well as a continuation of the hot streak begun with their critical breakthrough, 2005's LANGUAGE. SEX. VIOLENCE. OTHER? Age has both humbled and strengthened Stereophonics, and the result is a tighter, more muscular sound. For example, "It Means Nothing"'s unhurried mid-tempo rhythm supports some of singer Kelly Jones's most poignant lyrics to date. "Daisy Lane," "Stone," and "Bright Red Star" are among the ballad-heavy album's many softer forays, while "Bank Holiday Monday" and "Soldiers Make Good Targets" revive the band's more confrontational, Nirvana-ish penchants.
