PROOF OF YOUTH took nearly four years to complete after the Go! Team's brilliant, genre-splicing 2004 debut, THUNDER LIGHTNING STRIKE, and it sounds as if the British indie-dance collective was working away at it the entire time. The Go! Team's music on PROOF OF YOUTH, as on its predecessor, is an instantly intoxicating blend of Phil Spector-style pop, Stereolab-derived Krautrock, bossa nova influences, scrappy indie guitar rock, and R&B diva vocals out of the Kanye West production playbook. Highlights include the electro-pop pastiche "I Never Needed It Now So Much" and the irresistible dance frenzy of the first single "Grip Like A Vice." Hugely entertaining.
