Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's daring reality show Project Greenlight returns for its second season on HBO. Conceived as a vehicle for aspiring screenwriters, Project Greenlight functions as a contest whose winning script is produced and distributed by Miramax--with HBO recording the entire filmmaking process for a counterpart reality series. This time around, the competition is opened to both screenwriters and directors to allow for a more collaborative and realistic approach to filmmaking. As cameras follow the contestants and eventual winners--screenwriter Erica Beeney and co-directors Kyle Rankin and Efram Potelle--from their initial entries to the grueling interview process, and finally through preproduction and filming of THE BATTLE OF SHAKER HEIGHTS, the series becomes a dramatic and compelling look at the conflicts and compromises inherent in the team-based process of filmmaking.
