Dave Holland Artist Snapshot:

One of the most accomplished jazz bassists and bandleaders of the post-bop era, British-born Dave Holland first gained attention playing on Miles Davis's landmark electric albums of 1968-'70, including the milestone BITCHES BREW. He subsequently worked as part of the Gateway Trio with John Abercrombie and Jack DeJohnette, and with Anthony Braxton, among others. He has released numerous solo albums on the ECM label, and latterly, he led his own acclaimed, progressive-jazz big band.
