Product Notes

PORTRAIT IN BLACK: A complex melodrama about an ailing Nob Hill magnate named Matt Cobb whose neglected wife is secretly seeing his doctor. Together the lovers conspire to kill off the iron-fisted millionaire, but one murder leads to another, and soon Cobb's daughter becomes suspicious of her scheming stepmother.

MADAME X: A woman with a "dark past" marries an up-and-coming politician, but when her background threatens his career, she leaves him and degenerates into a life of alcoholism and drug addiction. Years later, a blackmailer discovers her identity, and attempts to extort money from her.
