She feels it is a spiritual gift which has helped her examine her own understanding of and relationship to God. This method of putting her convictions into word form began when, as a beginning school teacher, she was isolated from family and long-time friends and living in a small town one hundred miles from home and familiar surroundings. Gradually her gift evolved and became a method of communicating regularly with friends across the country. As her gift has become known, she has been asked to write celebrations of engagements, weddings, births, and even encouragement to share with incarcerated lawbreakers. Often she has no idea how to proceed, but once she applies her thoughts and asks God's guidance, even she is surprised by the outcome.
